Caring for trees
is one of the most important tasks for the property owner. Urban
environments contain many obstacles to maintaining healthy functioning
trees. Common stresses include restricted and compacted root space,
pollution, mechanical and chemical damage, and undesirable levels of
water and nutrients. Trees often are grown as specimens without the
benefit of other surrounding trees. To counter the many impacts, owners
should care for trees in a proactive manner.

Caring for Your Tree
There is a lot more to caring for a tree than providing water.
You need to know when to water and how much so you don't damage
your tree. There are proper methods of pruning (NOT trimming)
your tree that will enhance its growth. Improper pruning may
kill your tree! Then there are environmental factors,
fertilization, the roots, amount of sunlight, and the list goes
on.
We will provide a listing or network of experts that will keep
you in the know. You will be able to find all the answers to
these questions and more. Of course, you can also join with the
Citizen Foresters group and become
an expert yourself.
