Inventory and Monitoring
tasks are assigned to or assumed by trained volunteers, typically
Citizen Foresters
Citizen Foresters commit to
a rigorous schedule of class and field study to to ensure they have the
skills to properly assess tree hazards, tree diseases, plant trees,
maintain trees, know who to contact if the situation requires an expert
opinion and in most cases, without supervision. They are in a sense para-professionals
in the tree field.
Dallas' Citizen Foresters
often collect data and report back to the collecting agency. These folks
are the eyes, the ears and the hands of Dallas' Urban Forestry
program. Our mission and goals will have much greater effect with
increased numbers of sufficiently trained and active Citizen Foresters.

Dallas' Citizen Foresters
Trained volunteers close to the action doing the actual field
work are the eyes, the ears and the hands and backbone for the
advancement of the committee's goals and mission.
You can be a Citizen Forester by completing a class series, then volunteering to work on
tree projects locally. Be a member of the first response mulch
team, help prune, educate others or participate in other
rewarding projects.
One person can make a difference when they care for a tree!

Citizen
Forester program in the Fort Worth area and the great things
they have accomplished.
